Our skin is a living, vital organ. Just like every other organ,
homeostasis (a state of balance) and wholesome nourishment are vital for optimal repair, regeneration and healthy sustenance. It is also highly absorbent and responsive to what we feed it. Much more so than was thought. Today, science is using our skin as a most reliable vehicle for transporting chemicals into the bloodstream. Nicotine patches and hormone creams testify to its efficiency, as does the detection of garlic on the breath after being rubbed on the foot! The
unfortunate news is many of us unwittingly do untold harm to our
